Introduction

Reflective Inquiry Institute Pte. Ltd. (“the Company”, “we”, “us”, or “RII”) is committed to fair, responsible, and merit-based employment practices. In line with the Tripartite Guidelines on Fair Employment Practices (TAFEP), we seek to create an inclusive and supportive workplace where employees with disabilities are treated with dignity, respect, and equality. The Tripartite Guidelines on Fair Employment Practices are published by the Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP) and can be accessed at: https://www.tal.sg/tafep

Scope

This policy applies to all employees of the Company, including full-time, part-time, temporary, contract, and probationary staff.

Definition of Disability

Disability refers to any physical, sensory, intellectual, mental, or other impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, as recognised under applicable Singapore laws and guidelines.

Fair and Merit-Based Employment

The Company adopts fair employment practices and does not discriminate against any employee or job applicant on the basis of disability. Employment decisions, including recruitment, job assignment, compensation, training, promotion, and termination, are based on merit, performance, skills, experience, and business needs.

Reasonable Workplace Accommodations

Employees with disabilities may request reasonable workplace accommodations to enable them to perform their roles effectively. Requests should be made to Human Resources or a designated representative. The Company will assess each request fairly and provide reasonable accommodations where practicable, unless doing so would result in undue operational or business hardship.

Confidentiality and Data Protection

All information relating to an employee’s disability will be handled sensitively and in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Such information will only be disclosed on a need-to-know basis for the purpose of implementing accommodations or ensuring workplace safety.

Awareness and Inclusive Workplace Culture

The Company promotes awareness and understanding of disability inclusion among employees and managers. Where appropriate, training and guidance will be provided to support respectful communication, inclusive behaviour, and fair management practices.

Accessible Work Practices

RII will make reasonable efforts to ensure that work arrangements, communication methods, and workplace tools are accessible to employees with disabilities. This may include flexible work arrangements, assistive tools, or alternative modes of communication, where appropriate.

Physical Accessibility

Where the Company operates physical premises, reasonable steps will be taken to ensure accessibility for employees with mobility or physical challenges, subject to operational feasibility.

Return-to-Work Support

If an employee acquires a disability during their employment, the Company will, where practicable, explore suitable return-to-work arrangements. This may include job redesign, modified duties, adjusted work schedules, or redeployment based on the employee’s capabilities and business needs.

Career Development and Equal Opportunity

Employees with disabilities will have fair access to training, performance evaluation, career development, and advancement opportunities, based on merit and job-related criteria.

Grievance Handling and Feedback

Employees who believe they have experienced discrimination or unfair treatment related to disability are encouraged to raise their concerns through internal grievance channels. All feedback and complaints will be handled promptly, objectively, and fairly, in accordance with Company procedures and TAFEP guidelines.

Continuous Review

This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure ongoing alignment with TAFEP guidelines, Singapore employment laws, and best practices.

Compliance with Singapore Employment Laws

The Company complies with all applicable Singapore employment laws, tripartite advisories, and guidelines relating to fair employment, workplace inclusion, and reasonable accommodation.

Conclusion

RII is committed to fostering a workplace built on fairness, respect, and inclusion. By upholding TAFEP principles, we aim to create an environment where employees of all abilities can contribute meaningfully and reach their full potential.
